So why have light steel frame buildings not taken off as it should? The problem lies with the perception that it is a prefabricated solution with flimsy walls. Though there are many solutions for walls and floors for a light steel frame building, they all tend to sound "hollow" and "echoey" when you tap on it. Most wall cladding on light steel frame buildings are either wood panels, cement board, polystyrene laminated panels, or magnesium oxide boards. The same goes for the floors.. If you tap on these walls or floors, it doesn't sound SOLID...and that puts people off, especially in African countries where brick and concrete buildings are the norm and represent wealth and security.

Roofix enables you to build solid and durable concrete walls and floors on a light steel frame structure quickly and affordably, using less cement than one would use to plaster a standard brick or block walled building.

 

Most solutions only require the Rooofix formwork to be installed on the external layer of the structure, and normal dry board is then used for the internal finishes.. Roofix could however be used for external and internal skins on a light steel frame building, alternatively it can be plastered with mortar on both sides of the sheet.
